The land of eternal spring
Caribbean goods currently trade Green Coffee from Guatemala (Cacao beans in the near future!). What makes this tiny country so special? It can be divided into four main points. Guatemala holds crisscrossing mountain ranges that allow high altitudes for an optimal coffee harvest. The altitudes vary between 1,300 - 2,000 meters above sea level. Also, Guatemala holds more than 300 microclimates! Besides being between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, it holds large crater lakes, flat plains, and high mountain ranges. All these regions generate a dramatic difference in small areas of the country, bringing out each crop's best. Guatemala has consistent rainfall patterns, the famous "rainy season" of the country. Plentiful but varied rain helps the crop mature correctly and generate incredible quality. Last but not least, the crops of the country are charged with history. The agrarian reforms of the 50s, ancient cacao trees that back to the times where cacao has used a currency, the Spanish conquer and consequences, farms owned by the same family for over a hundred years. Everything above mentioned makes the goods we bring to the UK as good as it gets!
